Founded by Sharicky Ormond and Grace Ormond, SOGO Empowerment Housing was built on a shared commitment to addressing the growing challenges of housing insecurity, economic hardship, and limited access to opportunity within underserved communities. Drawing from their diverse personal experiences and deep understanding of community needs, they established the organization to create sustainable pathways toward housing stability, financial empowerment, and generational advancement for individuals and families in need.

Combining business leadership with a passion for community impact, the founders established SOGO Empowerment Housing to help individuals and families move beyond survival and towards long-term independence. Through housing support, mentoring, education and empowerment programs, the organization is committed to helping stabilize the housing crisis while equipping people with the tools needed to rebuild their future and create lasting generational change.
